Lanakila Pacific’s Kupuna Wellness program helps seniors stay healthy and engaged through free classes that combine exercise, games, excursions, and a warm, nutritious meal shared among friends. Held at Aiea Public Library and Aiea United Methodist Church, the classes offer welcoming and familiar spaces for kupuna to gather and grow.

“We believe that remaining active physically, mentally, and socially are all important contributors to seniors aging healthily and independently,” said Program Manager James Li.

Participants like Clare Yasutake say the program helps her feel energized and connected. “I have children, but not companions,” Clare explained. “When I got invited to the program, it was so wonderful for me to meet people in my age range, do things with them, and chat with them.”

Whether it’s movement, friendship, or a sense of purpose, the Kupuna Wellness program helps seniors feel more connected to themselves and their community. And when someone can no longer attend in person, Lanakila Pacific continues to support their independence by delivering meals—and a friendly visit—to their home. From physical health to social wellbeing, Kupuna Wellness is there every step of the way.
