Summer should be a time for kids to play, learn, and grow—but it can also mean losing access to daily school meals. That’s why Lanakila Kitchen is proud to participate in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), which helps ensure keiki in low-income communities don’t go hungry when school is not in session.

Each summer, Lanakila Kitchen prepares fresh, made-from-scratch meals and delivers them to schools, summer camps, and community programs across Oahu. It’s a team effort built around care, nutrition, and local partnership.

SFSP runs this year from June 3 to August 2, providing an important safety net for hundreds of keiki across the island. For many of them, a warm lunch shared with classmates or summer program friends is a boost of energy and a sign that their community is looking out for them.

Lanakila Kitchen’s involvement in SFSP also supports the broader mission of Lanakila Pacific by creating employment opportunities within Food Services, providing job training for adults with disabilities, and helping build stronger, healthier communities.
