Strong communities are built through connection. At Lanakila Pacific, those connections come to life through partnerships that help people with disabilities and kupuna build independence and thrive. Employers open doors to meaningful job opportunities, schools help students build skills and confidence, and donors, businesses, and volunteers contribute time and resources so programs can grow and reach more people. Together, these relationships make lasting impact possible.

On April 11, INSPO! 2026: Bite Into Something Good brings those connections together for a day of food, activities and community in support of Lanakila Pacific’s programs and services. This year’s event also marks a meaningful milestone: the 55th anniversary of Lanakila Pacific Meals on Wheels. What began in 1971 as the Honolulu Nutrition Program—serving lunch from a wagon in Aala Park—has grown into an islandwide service that helps seniors age in place with dignity in their own homes.

The event’s Food Truck Challenge honors those early beginnings. Inspired by the program’s roots of preparing and delivering simple, nourishing meals, local vendors will offer their own take on the local favorite musubi—spotlighting the ongoing importance of food security for seniors across Oahu.

INSPO! also highlights partnerships in action through student volunteers from Kalani, Kaimuki, and Farrington High Schools’ special education programs, along with Kaimuki Middle School—reflecting Lanakila Pacific’s commitment to inclusion and meaningful community engagement.

“Lanakila Pacific is thriving because of the support we’ve received from communities across the island. INSPO! is a celebration of these partnerships and our way of giving back,” said Rona Yagi Fukumoto, President and CEO of Lanakila Pacific. “This event not only supports Lanakila Pacific’s programs and services, but also creates opportunity for local businesses, families, and youth.”

Join us April 11—come hungry, be inspired, and bite into something truly good.
