Lanakila Pacific is excited to announce the second annual INSPO! 2025 on Saturday, April 12 from 10am-3pm at Kaimuki Middle School. This family-friendly fundraising event aims to foster connections within our neighborhoods by showcasing the businesses, organizations, and people that create such a dynamic community – all to benefit the people with disabilities and seniors that Lanakila Pacific serves.
This year’s concept and theme, Building Connections: Piece by Piece, provides a framework for our local community to gather, support, and engage with one another – in other words, connect. “Like a puzzle, our community is made up of many unique pieces each essential to creating a complete and vibrant picture,” says Lanakila Pacific President & CEO Rona Yagi Fukumoto. “But individuals with disabilities and older adults are often relegated to the margins with the edges of a puzzle and puzzle builders know that edges are very important. They frame and complete the picture and bring it into focus.”
At Lanakila Pacific, it is our vision to support an inclusive community where all members are empowered to find meaningful employment, live independently, and thrive. “Our 85-year history is built on the connections we’ve made and valued over the years, believing that we are stronger together than apart. That’s why partnering with Kaimuki Middle School for this community-driven INSPO! is so dear to us. A heartfelt mahalo to the administration, teachers and students of Kaimuki Middle School for embracing our vision and for their hospitality.” continues Rona.
This free event is open to the general public. Attendees will enjoy an exciting lineup of activities and games at the Lanakila Fun Zone, such as a 16-foot inflatable slide. The INSPO! marketplace will showcase local craft vendors, while attendees can indulge in savory and sweet bites from popular local street eateries. Guests can also explore the Lanakila General Store, featuring unique crafts made by Lanakila Teaching & Learning Centers participants, baked goods from Lanakila Kitchen, and merchandise from Lanakila Custom Products.
