What is an SFSP?
A Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a federally funded, State-administered program that reimburses providers who serve nutritious meals and snacks to children and teens in low-income areas when school is not in session, during the months of June and July.
What is an SFSP Sponsoring Organization?
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) over-sees the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) nationally, while locally, approved sponsors, such as school districts, government agencies, camps, or nonprofit organizations, manage SFSP operations.
Sponsors work with vendors that make meals and snacks for children at central sites like schools or community centers. Sponsors are then reimbursed by USDA through their State agencies. Some sponsors charge additional fees to cover costs and/or delivery.
Organizations assuming administrative and financial responsibility for SFSP, either by directly operating the program or collaborating with multiple providers, are known as SFSP Sponsoring Organizations under agreements with their state agency.

While the USDA provides reimbursement, we ensure meals are provided at no additional cost.
Meals are prepared in-house at Lanakila Kitchen from scratch.
Additionally, we offer convenient delivery for a $25 fee, waived for orders of 15 meals or more, making healthy options easily accessible.
Required guidelines must be met by program sites which are covered in mandatory training set by Lanakila Kitchen (sponsor).

What are your business hours?
We are open Monday through Friday (except select Holidays).
Breakfast is served from 6:30am - 8:30am.
Lunch is served from 10:30am - 12:30pm.
Do you offer delivery services?
Yes. We offer free delivery for downtown Honolulu catering orders. Other delivery costs vary by location. Contact for more details.

Lanakila Kitchen currently serves to-go options for breakfast and lunch with delicious menu items from local favorites.
What kind of food does Lanakila Kitchen offer?
We offer a variety of baked goods such as scones, lilikoi bars, and cookies. Our cafeteria serves breakfast/lunch plates that reflect local flavors and favorites. From Hawaiian plates to garlic chicken, loco moco to BBQ brisket, we got it all!
Who can order from Lanakila Kitchen?
Anyone can order from Lanakila Kitchen! We have a cafeteria that is open to the public, located at Bachelot Street, where you can order our daily specials. You can also call us for your next party, lunch, or other catering needs.
